Going green is always a win-win situation. Inasmuch as government advocates for the private and the public sector to conserve energy, reduce waste, and promote green and healthy spaces, we must walk the talk and show that we can work with less waste, energy and fewer resources.”

The OM4B’s second seminar was surprisingly a triumphant. Even though the people behind the seminar weren’t much prepared, the performance of each and everyone has improved. Comparing to our first seminar the second one was indeed much better.

We started the program with an invocation followed by the waving of flag together with singing of the national anthem. Before the program proper started, Mr. Tj Agustin had given the opening remarks of the seminar. It was then followed by an intermission number that was given by a 3rd year operations management student. By then everyone was awaken because of her warm performance. Mr. Ona was then called for the introduction of the first speaker. The First speaker was Mr. Rei Panaligan, the coordinator of Ecowaste Coalition. It is a public interest network of community, church, school, environmental and health groups pursuing sustainable solutions to waste, climate change and chemical issues facing the Philippines and the world. Mr. Panaligan had been an advocate of “No to Plastik”. It was one of the advocacies of their organization. After his talk another intermission number was given by the Letran Streetbeat dancers. They made the crowd enjoyed and full of liveliness.

The next speaker was now on the urge of lecturing his talk. He was introduced by our very own guidance counselor, Mr. Herman Brinas. The second speaker was Mr. Joseph Rosal, a graduate from University of the Philippines-Diliman and had his Masteral Degree at De La Salle University. Currently, He was the head of Center for Social Concern and Action in La Salle Taft. His lectures had given the audience the ideas of what, where and how to plant appropriate trees. He also promulgated a collaboration of our school in partnership of their school in which different green movements will be done. One of those activities is tree planting. The organization is open for any schools who would like to have partnership with their school’s green advocacy. In this way, the youth will act as one in sustaining development. After the lecture proper, OM4B had finally showcased their talent by having an ECORAMP Showdown. The main objective of this is to show how can we reduced, reused and recycle things. Everyone on the hall was enjoyed and I think they had benefitted a lot from the program we had shown. From this experience our class attachment became closer and all of us had paid for the effort we have given.
